Seal Watch at Rome Point • Sunday at 12:30 PM - 3 PM
Hosted by the Audubon Society of RI
John H. Chafee National Wildlife Refuge Narragansett, Rhode Island 02882

Harbor seals are the most common marine mammals in Rhode Island waters. They are present from fall through spring, and are most abundant in April. Join Bob Kenney, volunteer Audubon naturalist and almost-retired URI marine mammal scientist, for a visit to the largest haul-out site in the state off of Rome Point. The walk is timed to low tide, and we could see a hundred seals or more. Be prepared to walk a mile each way and to watch for birds along the trek.
No dogs, please.

The parking lot is on the east side of Boston Neck Rd. (Rte. 1-A) 0.8 miles north of the Jamestown Bridge connector (Rte. 138) and 2.5 miles south of the intersection of Rtes 1-A and 102 in Wickford village. If the parking lot is full, please park on the road shoulder and not on the grass.
