Maple Sugaring at Coggeshall Farm
Coggeshall Farm Museum, a living history museum in Bristol, RI, invites the public to participate in its annual maple sugaring demonstrations, Tuesday, February 20 through Sunday, February 25, and weekends in March.

The museum will be open 10 am to 4 pm on maple sugaring days.

During your visit you can stroll through an 18th-century sugar camp and learn how Federalist-era people made maple sugar over a campfire (weather permitting). Then warm up around the hearth in Coggeshall's historic farm house and enjoy some mulled cider and johnny cakes. Visit the farm's heritage breed livestock including our Gulf Coast Native sheep.

Maple sugaring is included with museum admission and free to Coggeshall members. Weekend admission is $5/children, seniors and active-duty military; $7/adults. Weekday admission from Tuesday, February 20 through Friday, February 23 is $3/children, seniors and active-duty military; $5/adults. Children under 3 are free. Memberships can be purchased online at www.coggeshallfarm.org or at the museum.

Wicked Fun in the 401

The Drowsy Chaperone - Bristol Theater Co
March 8 - 11 (Thurs - Sun)

When a die hard theatre fan plays his favorite cast album, the characters come to life in this hilarious musical farce.

Winner of five Tony Awards, including Best Book and Best Original Score, The Drowsy Chaperone is a loving send-up of the Jazz Age musical, featuring one show-stopping song and dance number after another.

With the house lights down, a man in a chair appears on stage and puts on his favorite record: the cast recording of a fictitious 1928 musical. The recording comes to life and The Drowsy Chaperone begins as the man in the chair looks on. Mix in two lovers on the eve of
their wedding, a bumbling best man, a desperate theatre producer, a not-so-bright hostess, two gangsters posing as pastry chefs, a misguided Don Juan and an intoxicated chaperone, and you have the ingredients for an evening of madcap delight.

Hailed by New York Magazine as "The Perfect Broadway Musical," The Drowsy Chaperone is a masterful meta-musical, poking fun at all the tropes that characterize the musical theatre genre.

Across the floor combinations focus on rhythm, elevations, turns, and changes in level, direction, and dynamic. Influences include the traditional techniques of Horton, Limon, and Cunningham with constant attention to contemporary safe dance practices. While some dance experience is ideal, this class is adaptable to each student’s level of experience and anatomical structure.
