Introduction to Electronics - AS 220 - 2 Part Series

Learn how to solder and program electronics in this introductory workshop!
We will be assembling an Educato Kit: an Arduino - compatible microcontroller that is perfect for beginners and prototyping new projects.
The first session will go over each electronic component used in assembly, the layout of the board, and troubleshooting to ensure proper assembly. The second session will go over reading schematics, the basics of electric theory, the Arduino language, programming and circuit assembly on a breadboard.
Participants will leave with soldering skills and a fancy new tool to add to their arsenal of creativity.
With this knowledge, you will also be able to make simple repairs on electronics that were once thought broken for good! Educato Kit is provided.

Ken-David Masur, a rising star on the conductor circuit, leads the Philharmonic in January with music of Brahms, Britten and Tchaikovsky. Currently the assistant conductor of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, he leads the Munich Symphony as well, and runs the Chelsea Music Festival in New York with his wife, pianist Melinda Lee Masur. He trained not only with his father, the late Kurt Masur, but also with Larry Rachleff.

Winter Art Classes for Kids at Linden Place Mansion
Spark creativity and imagination at Linden Place this winter!
Linden Place Mansion is offering three Saturday morning art classes this winter on January 20, 27 and February 3, 2018.
This three-day, morning course from 9am-11:30am is designed for young artists (ages 8-11) who like to do a variety of art activities. Students will unleash their creativity and make fascinating discoveries while exploring the 200-year old historical mansion, grounds, and carriage house.
Students will learn to draw and paint in a beautiful, historic setting using a variety of materials while surrounded by exquisite artifacts and history.
Taught by a professional, local artist and certified teacher, Joanne Murrman, activities and themes include portraits, landscapes, weaving and more!
The cost of classes is $75 per student. Linden Place members receive a $20 discount.
